Passin' Me By

Rock The Bells in San Bernardino this Saturday. Some footage from other cities' tours has gone around the blogs but what's up with no Pharcyde? I don't know if people forgot that they were RE-U-FUCKIN-NITING this year.

I picked up a compilation of Pharcyde remixes and rarities way back on Record Store Day. The double-disc is pretty hard to listen non-stop (because who needs to hear FOUR MORE versions of "Soul Flower" in one sitting) but it's got a lot of must-have tracks that would just be a bitch to find individually. I favored those remixes from Pharcyde's collaborators like L.A. Jay, J-Sw!ft, and Jay Dee because they seem to know Pharcyde and their sound the best. And who can pass up a Beatminerz remix?

Soul Flower (Brand New Heavies Version)

Soul Flower (2 tha 3 mix) [prod. J-Sw!ft]

Passin' Me By (Fly As Pie Remix) [prod. L.A. Jay]

Ya Mama (Remix) [prod. J-Sw!ft)

She Said (Jay Dee Remix)

Y? (Be Like That) (Jay Dee Remix)

Drop (Da Beatminerz Remix)

And I can't front on this remix from the homies at Glass Bottom Boat. Much better than the version that's on this disc and the new Phillipians version from the Delicious Vinyl's RMXXOLOGY project.

Runnin' (Glass Bottom Boat Remix)

Also, don't forget to drop by 2dopeboyz for a musical deconstruction of "Passin' Me By." Which is to say, he's compiled all SIX samples that make up that song for your perusal. That's a pretty amazing feat of production.
