Broken Glass

Punk-ass bitches broke into my car last night. Thankfully, they didn't steal anything of real value like my stereo (dumb-asses) but I got a busted window and all my CD's are gone including my actual copies of:

The Roots - Illadelph Halflife
Big Pun - Capital Punishment
Pharcyde - Labcabincalifornia
Mos Def - Black On Both Sides
Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Blackstar
Reflection Eternal - Train of Thought
Pharoahe Monch - Desire
Dilla - Donuts
Dilla - The Shining
Cunninlynguists - A Piece of Strange
Psalm One - The Death of the Frequent Flyer
J-Live - The Best Part
J-Live - Then What Happened?
Oh No - The Disrupt
Oh No - Exodus Into Unheard Rhythms
Killer Mike - Monster
DJ Neil Armstrong - 2Original

And some other shit. Criminal delinquents. They must've listened to too much of that infernal rap music.

Fuck.

im not the biggest fan of technology, but its moment like that that really make you wanna go 'head and get a ipod with the car hook up, so that you wont have to lose your actual albums...damn, sorry to hear that man. i feel your pain though, i was in wreck a couple years ago and totalled my car, when i went to get my stuff out of from the lot later, i noticed my entire kast collection as well as some other goodies that i probably havent realized were missing yet, were gone...

Yeah I'm always tempted to go get an iPod but I resist just on general principle of hating on trendy shit. Plus, I kinda like showing off to peeps that hop into my car that I actually buy (some) music.

Sorry to hear about that, man. That is just unfathomable. Do you back up your music? I'm down to give you a few of those in digital format to replace. I think that act, in a moral sense, does not infringe on any artist's rights.

I feel you on the "recognition of purchase" aspect of having CDs, but I gotta say, the iPod in the car has been such an improvement for me, in terms of convenience alone. My car already has a hook-up for peripherals, but if it didn't, I would seriously consider it, because it makes it far easier to select your music easily, plus you get a bit more versatility than you might get even with a 6-CD changer in your car. And it also makes it easy for passengers for peruse and select music.

Plus, I keep the stack of jewel cases back at the apartment to let people know I'm all about buying up what should be purchased now. That way, you can have the best of both worlds.

On a separate note, is the iPod still considered "trendy?" I thought it had finally crossed-over into "generally accepted as the best available product in this category of products" category.

Nah I don't back up my music all the time but I'm not too worried about that. I can find downloads for any of those albums on the Internet if I wanted to. I just rather have the actual artifact of the retail CD in my possession. I can't really explain it.

And yeah, it would make sense to get an iPod but yknow, I keeps it real, mad real.
